Rockstar White Facts:
Safe: Rockstar White uses tried and true dental products with long safety records. Since whitening's introduction, millions of people have successfully undergone the whitening process with studies showing no long-term changes in enamel hardness and gingival health. Do Not Use If: The Rockstar White whitening experience is not for pregnant, nursing, children under age 14, or uncontrolled diabetics. If you have severely stained teeth from fluoride use, or tetracycline use, your results may be limited. Gum Irritation The whitening solution may come in contact the gum tissue and in rare cases may cause slight inflammation or whitening to the gums or the gum line (blanching). The easiest way to avoid this issue is to limit the amount of whitening gel within the impression material to the upper 1/3 portion and removing excess gel within the impression with a cotton applicator or Q-Tip. However when blanching does occur please apply Vitamin E gel (oral quality) to the affected area and the tissue will be returned to normal within 10 to 20 minutes. Vitamin E can be used on the gums before the whitening process as this will avoid any possible risk of gum irration. However, Vitamin E can also be used as an "as needed" basis when gum irritation occurs.
Caution: most mouth rinses and certain foods (spicey, or acidic) as well as abrasions from eating or cleaning the teeth can predispose you to gum irritation. Dental Work and Whitening: Rockstar White's products will have no negative impact on dental work. The process will not however, change the created colors of these dental materials Whitening can help remove stains from dental work. Tooth Sensitivity - Got fluoride? Tooth sensitivity is a common side effect of peroxide based teeth whitening; Especially, the first 24 hours after a whitening session. The sensitivity is generally self-limiting. Application of our after care products will eliminate the sensitivity more quickly and is available to our clients for an additional fee. Instructions for Fluoride Use: The use of .4% fluoride typically will take care of tooth sensitivities; Severe cases can take up to one to one and a half months to eliminate. Typically the use of fluoride can be safely used twice a day, at bedtime and after breakfast, time periods where you won't be consuming foods for at least 1-hour post fluoride application. To use our gel, brush on the gel for 1 minute then expectorate the excess without rinsing out the excess. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you suffer from any condition that the manufacture considers at risk for the use of fluoride, such as kidney problems. Fluoride will not reduce or eliminate hot sensitivities to the teeth; your dentist must treat hot sensitivity. Lasting Results It is recommended not to eat or drink for 2 hour after a whitening treatment. Avoidance of dark, acidic beverages such as: coffee, tea, colas and smoking for one week following the treatment is recommended. If you normally consume these products and avoiding them is something you probably won't do, then use touch up treatments daily during this post-whitening week.
